Learn to Sail!
Announcing a NEW U.S. Sailing Association certified SAIL-TRAINING PROGRAM For youths ages 11-18 and adults of all ages.
Cost: $75.00 per person - includes sail training and pool fees. Limited scholarships for youth are available. ($118 for out of district participants)
Week-long classes will teach dinghy sailing for four hours per day during the months of June and July 2010. Location: the "Monkey Island" sailing area just west of the Gate #3 ramp at Blaine Harbor Marina.
The program will loan each student a U.S. Coast Guard - approved life jacket, sailing text, and shorty wetsuits (available in small & medium). Each student must pass a swim test before beginning training. The test includes a 50-yard swim (2 lengths of pool), tread water for 2 minutes, and then put on a life jacket while still in the water.

Sailing Schedule ~ Summer 2010 ~ completed NOTE: each class is preceded by a Sunday swim test and capsize training. All swim tests are held at the Lynden YMCA.
