What is NWPRD2?
Northwest Park & Recreation District #2 was created in 1979 with the boundaries of the Blaine School District minus Point Roberts. Inactive since 1987, the newly energized NWPRD2 is working with a new mission statement, a new office, and sponsoring many new activities. Parks within the district include Birch Bay State Park and Peace Arch Park. A newly formed Steering Committee is currently working with the community on the formation of a Master Plan for the district.
Our Mission Statement: The mission of the Northwest Park and Recreation District 2 is to provide recreational opportunities, acquire and maintain sites that enhance our quality of life, and preserve the natural and recreational resources of the district.
